Nkayi RDC operates under a council system, with 30 elected councillors representing the district's wards and 9 councillors for the women's quota. The council is led by the chairperson, Mr Elvis Nkomo, and the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), who oversees the implementation of policies and development projects. The current CEO is Mr. Silibele Mpofu. The Nkayi Rural District Council is led by a dedicated team committed to serving the community and driving local development.
